Ca. 1930

The company „Adolf Eckart, sawmill owner and carpenter” was founded when Adolf Eckart built a steam-powered sawmill with an adjoining carpenter’s workshop.

1968

The company was passed on to the eldest son, August Eckart, and was renamed to “Adolf August Eckart, sawmill and timber trade”. A new, more powerful sawmill with carpenter’s workshop was built and completed in 1972.

From 1985

The company began to supply wood to “Durabil”, a producer of production boards for the concrete block industry from Schlitz in Hessen.

1988

August Eckart bought out “Durabil” and Manfred Eckart became the manager at the age of 24.

1992

“Eckart Holz GmbH” was founded on September 21st 1992 and production was moved to the current location – the site of the converted old sawmill in Michelsrombach.

Since 1993

ca. 1.5 million softwood production boards have been sold to satisfied customers in over 60 countries around the world.

2015

A comprehensive modernisation of the production processes is followed by an update to the corporate design and logo.
